I first read the manga version of Chobits. I grew to love it so much I had to buy the dvds for it with all 27 episodes. Now both the manga and DVDs are slightly different. But I prefer if people read the manga. Its alot of reading, but you'll understand it more.

Personally I have read all the manga and watched the first 10 (or something like that) episodes.
I prefer the manga, but I still can't wait till I see all the episodes!

i first saw the anime. i was browsing the anime section of my library, and i saw it and rented it. it was like the 8th episode, and i was clueless. later on i bought all the anime for a great deal and watched it..i still had unanswered questions tho, and i didn't want chobits to end just like that. so then i read the manga. it certainley is better than the anime in my opinion. it goes a lot deeper into Chii's exsistince and what the whole chobits program is about.

thanx, uh, yea, i do have a question. what exactly are Chobits? (as in Chi and Freya). what can they do that makes them better than other persocoms?? in the last book of the manga Freya says that Chobits are no more special than any other persocoms, but i always thought that Chobits were persocoms that have emotions and move at their own will...

Persocoms are just your everyday utility are which I like to think of them as a regular computer, only that they look human-like and since they're computers, you have to install programs in them in order for them to do certain things.
As for Chobits, they have the ability to learn things. In them they have this "self-learning" program that once Chobits hear and see things, they have it stored in their harddriver just like us humans remembering things in our brains. The special thing the Chobits can do that persocoms can't do is have feelings. Human feelings. Like you said Fairylore, yes, they can move on their own free will. Just like how Chi chose Hideki to be her "Someone Just For Me" and Freya chose her creator.

actually they don't have real feelings It's just how they learn to behave. The real special thing that makes a chobits different from the other persocoms is that it can make every persocom in the world loose how to reconize everyone; humans aand persocoms alike. So a persocom may see a human a think it's a persocom and the other way around. (that helps?  ) |
